Windows 12 Release Date & Expected Features

Microsoft has not made any formal announcements regarding the upcoming Windows upgrade. We forecast that Windows 12 will be the company’s next version and that it will arrive some time in the second half of 2023 based on previous release patterns.

        Windows 12 Release Date

Windows updates work in a different way than those for Android, iOS, and macOS, which are updated annually. Windows receives regular security updates as well as additional security upgrades when required. Every year, Windows receives a feature update that contains new features and OS improvements. This update is typically released in the second half of the year. Additionally, Windows occasionally gets some of these features through the issuance of monthly security updates.

As is clear, Windows has a much more constant update schedule than the Google Pixel, with monthly security updates, feature updates, and then a yearly OS upgrade. However, Windows has a substantially longer schedule for updating the OS version.

Windows 11 was introduced more than six years after Windows 10, making it a startling outlier in today’s quick-paced society. Microsoft used to release software with a little bit more regularity before then. In 2009, Windows 7, in 2012, Windows 8, and in 2015, Windows 10.

We can anticipate the release of Windows 12 in 2024 if Microsoft sticks to its previous schedule. This is our best guess based on historical trends because the corporation hasn’t formally acknowledged any schedule. Although we do not yet know the precise release date for Windows 12, we will update this post as soon as we acquire reliable news.

           System Requirements For Windows 12

If we are allowed to make an educated guess, Windows 12’s minimal system requirements will be identical to those of Windows 11’s. Although Windows 12 might have more demanding needs (we don’t yet know what they are), there is very little possibility that those who can’t use Windows 11 will be able to use Windows 12.

For your information, listed below are the minimum system requirements for Windows 11.

CPU: A suitable 64-bit CPU running at 1GHz or faster and with two or more cores.
RAM: 4GB
Memory: 64 GB
Graphics: WDDM 2.0 driver and DirectX 12 or later compatible card
System firmware that supports Secure Boot through UEFI
TPM: v2.0
HD 720p, 8 bits per color channel, and a 9-inch diagonal display
Internet access is required for device setup.

                                Windows 12 Beta

Microsoft will almost certainly host an announcement event for Windows 12 whenever it decides to release it, to highlight the next version and its features. As Microsoft did with Windows 11 betas, we anticipate Windows 12 betas to start the week after this launch announcement.

The betas will presumably be used for a few months until the most important bugs are fixed before graduating to stable channel public releases.
