Privateer Bikes Unveils Gen 2 Privateer 141 & 161

We’re happy to finally present the Gen 2 range of Privateer Bikes after three years of development, 500,000 meters of descent, an Ard Rock victory, a ton of rumors, and a few spy shots.

The Gen 2 range, which was created from the bottom up to charge hard and go big, has our newly built A-L-P Suspension platform, rear center and mixed wheel flip chips, our forward-thinking balanced geometry, and larger bearings to increase durability.

Gen 2 is all about predictability and confidence because, as Privateer riders Joe Connell, Katy Curd, and Fergus Ryan pointed out, when you’re feeling confident, you’ll ride harder and bigger!

Suspension of Aligned Linear Progression

• At the beginning of the stroke, sensitive and flexible.
• Feels coil-like even when you get an air shock.
• Excellent pedal support in every gear.
• Consistent while braking.
• Ample bottom-out resistance to enable strong riding in any circumstance.
• A linear response to boost confidence and predictability.

The conversation about switching to a new suspension platform began at the same time as Gen 2 development got underway. We saw that 6-bar, mid-pivot, and high-pivot suspension systems were very popular at the time.

We assessed each based on our perceptions of what riders desired from Gen 2, and we concluded that an extension of the Horst link platform provides the features we were looking for. Although other platforms provide advantages as well, Horst Link provides highly customizable anti-rise and anti-squat parameters that allow us to create our best kinematics and a reliable and predictable ride.

The secret is to be predictable! You’ll feel more confidence and ride your bike harder and faster if you know exactly what to expect from it.

The Aligned Linear Progression (A-L-P) suspension system, which is incredibly predictable and simple to ride hard, is a feature of every Gen 2 bike.

Three important factors were considered while creating the Gen 2 suspension: how they impact the bike’s ride, how to provide the desired predictability, and how to design them.

The A-L-P leverage ratio At the beginning of travel, suspension provides a low force at the back wheel (a high leverage ratio). This means that less force is transferred to the rider and also provides exceptional traction at the start of the stroke, reducing fatigue when you’re charging hard on trails.

Even with an air shock, the high leverage ratio at startup readily displaces stiction in the shock seals to provide a coil-like sensation. To provide certainty, we have strived for a leverage rate that is as linearly progressive as possible.

The bike can withstand everything you throw at it when you’re charging hard on unknown trails because of the progression at the end of the stroke, which offers plenty of bottom out resistance.

Anti Rise: In order to give you the confidence to brake late, we designed Gen 2 bikes to achieve a balance between chassis stability and braking traction. Additionally, we intended the A-L-P Suspension to perform consistently throughout its travel, allowing you to concentrate on appreciating the terrain while feeling confident enough to ride hard.

Anti-Squat: You can always apply the power effectively because the A-L-P Suspension platform offers a perfect mix of grip and pedaling support in all speeds. The anti-squat improves as you move into harder gears, providing the extra pedal assistance you need when sprinting out of the saddle. And once more, maintaining that anti-squat throughout the ride offers you the consistency that everyone wants in order to ride as quickly as possible!

• Custom-Tuned Fox Suspension: In close collaboration with Fox, all Gen 2 bikes and framesets utilize a specially tuned shock to optimize our A-L-P Suspension system.

Strength and suitability for use

Feature-wise, there’s room for a large bottle and tool on every size, easy access cable and hose routing, 42mm full complement Enduro Max main bearings, secondary seals on all bearings, single-sided hardware, extensive custom-designed frame protection, and replaceable ISCG mounts.

We have made the decision to restrict the number of Gen 2 bikes for the 2024 season in light of the present challenges facing the bike industry. Gen 2 bikes and framesets go on pre-sale today, February 16. May 1st is when frames will be available, and May 5th is when bikes will be available.

We are also thrilled to inform that Gen 2 bikes will be sent directly from our offices in the UK, the US, and the recently established EU, providing sales and aftermarket service to consumers worldwide.

While you’re on the phone, the buds can cut down on background noise, and the sound quality is pretty damn good. According to Google, you may use the earbuds for up to five hours of listening time and 2.5 hours of talking before having to put them back in their case.

It looks like you can listen for up to 24 hours straight before charging the case. After just 15 minutes of charging, you may extend the listening time by three hours with the use of rapid charging.

There isn’t actual active noise cancellation present, but there is an adaptive sound feature that lets you set the volume automatically.

Gemini To Get Assistant Routines

Assistant Routines may soon be supported on Gemini, according to an APK dissection of the Google app.
One of the main reasons so many are using Google Assistant rather than signing up for Gemini is that it lacks routines.
Regretfully, neither the precise integration of Routines into Gemini nor the possible release date are known

Google first launched Google Assistant Routines back in 2017. You can use this functionality to perform several actions with a single voice command. Saying “Hey Google, let’s watch a movie,” for instance, would cause Assistant to simultaneously turn out the lights, switch on the TV, and put your phone in do not disturb mode.

Even while Google is pitching Gemini, its generative AI-powered assistant, as a replacement for Google Assistant, Gemini still lacks Routines-like functionality. Fortunately, that might not last long.

Based on work-in-progress code, an APK breakdown assists in forecasting features that might be added to a service in the future. It’s possible, though, that these anticipated features won’t be released to the general public.

The Google app for Android is now in beta version 15.24.28.29.arm64 beta. We discovered a work-in-progress page that makes explicit reference to Assistant Routines and how Gemini would support them. This page is viewable in the screenshot below, which we must stress is a work in progress:

Assistant Routines

Based on the information available on this website, it seems that Gemini will not be getting its own Routines system—at least not quite yet. Rather, it seems that Gemini will allow you to manage Assistant Routines. It will be awkward because you will have to use Assistant to create new routines and Gemini to activate them, but at least it’s an improvement over nothing.

While there are many additional features that Assistant can perform that Gemini cannot, one of the main drawbacks that keep Android users from fully committing to Gemini is likely the inability to control routines. If nothing else, this APK disassembly demonstrates Google’s ongoing efforts to bring Gemini’s features up to line with Assistant.

Regretfully, we are unsure of the timeline for when this functionality will be activated. However, given that it’s showing up in beta code, we anticipate it to be available in a few weeks or months.
