According to UrbanIslandz, Minaj first hinted about the prospect of starting her own label in January 2022. The Queen of Rap obviously needs the best people on her team, which is why Wendy Goldstein was chosen to head up her Republic Records subsidiary.
Beginning in 1993 at Epic Records and eventually getting the job as an A&R at Universal Music’s Geffen Records, the industry executive has spent 30 years managing hip-hop creatives. She signed artists like Mos Def, Common, and The Roots while she was in the latter position.
The Trinidadian native also stated that she has already signed four people, each of whom brings something wholly original to the table. The first performer is Ghanaian artist Nana Fofie, who joined Minaj in the studio during her Queen Radio broadcast.
We’ll also hear from Jamaican Skeng, who was recently spotted working on a music video with the model while she was on holiday for Carnival in her native country.
